Edgewood Planning Commission Roster

The City’s Comprehensive Plan is an important document that contains the City’s land use goals and policies that guide how growth and development occurs within the City. This Comprehensive Plan is subject to ongoing review and evaluation for consistency. The Growth Management Act limits updates to the plan to once a year (there are some exceptions) in order to allow citizens to have meaningful participation in reviewing any proposed changes.

Annual Review Schedule - 2009 Comprehensive Plan Amendment Review Schedule

2009 Applications – Review the compiled summary of 2009 Comprehensive Plan Amendment applications considered by the Planning Commission this year.

PHASE I REVIEW SUMMARY – January - June 2009

2009 Amendment Process This year’s amendments were received between January 1 and December 31, 2009.  Six amendments were initially received and the City Council confirmed four of the applications to move forward for phase 2 review in June 2010. The other two applications were recommended to be advanced as separate items minor code changes.  The Planning Commission has conducted numerous meetings and workshops throughout the year to review the amendments and allow the public to provide input.  A copy of the annual work plan and schedule is available for review. Highlights of the review process and draft documents for review are listed below. 

Phase 1 Recommendations – File 3706 - The Planning Commission completed its phase one review and forwarded its formal recommendations to the City Council on May 4th, 2009.  A summary of the amendments and the Planning Commission’s recommendations and included and more detailed information regarding each application can be found in the Phase 1 review summary.

Phase II Update and review items

            City initiated Amendments – Attachment “E” and Attachment “F”
Attachment "E" is the draft Energy Element.  Attachment "F" is the draft Housing Element.

            Citizen Initiated Amendments – Attachments “B” and “C
Attachments "B" and "C" are Proposed Land Use Map changes.

         No further review is proposed for:

Attachment “A” – Did not advance to Phase 2  

Attachment “D” – Did not advance to Phase 2

2010 Annual Amendments - Comprehensive Plan Amendment Application

The City of Edgewood is accepting applications for Comprehensive Plan amendments for the remainder of the 2010 calendar year.  Obtain an application at City Hall or by downloading the Comp Plan Amendment Application, which also includes a useful fact sheet.  A fee is charged if a proposed amendment proposes to change the Official Land Use Map or if a text amendment seeks a change to or affects the Official Land Use Map.     Citizen-initiated requests must be received by 12:00 Noon, Friday, December 31, 2010, for consideration during the next annual amendment process, which begins January 1, 2011.
