Radar Trailer on the Road
Police volunteer
Richard Morrison places Edgewood’s radar trailer in various
locations throughout the City. This device, purchased through grant
funding, not only shows the current speed, but also flashes a reminder
to
“slow down”
if the posted
speed limit has been exceeded. Additionally, this radar trailer has
the capability to collect data and provide information about the
habits and behaviors motorists display in various locations in the
City. Thank you Richard for your public safety volunteer efforts.
Emergency Preparedness
This campaign,
"3 Days,
3 Ways, Are You Ready?" , is designed to be easy to learn the steps
to preparedness. The three key ingredients are: make a plan,
get a kit, and get involved. Any step a citizen takes today
will put them in a stronger position to be more resilient in
a major event such as earthquake, winter storms or terrorist
attack!
A Word from the Chief . . .
I
believe we must be united in our efforts if we hope to reduce crime
within our communities. If more people “take ownership,” our chances of
solving, fighting, and preventing crime will be increased. By
ownership, I mean that citizens take steps to protect their own property
and to help protect the property of their neighbors.
Individual and group efforts in this area can always be increased to safeguard our families and neighborhoods.
The deputies, detective and Chief must each do their part, and the
County Prosecutor must be on board. The Edgewood City Council,
businesses and schools also play a significant role.
Ownership goes beyond crime. It also involves being
there for one another in an emergency.
