City of Edgewood- Notice of Public Hearing
2023 Annual Comprehensive Plan Amendments / Rezone Preliminary Docket
Once each year, Washington State law allows cities to amend their comprehensive plan. Any interested party may submit proposals to change language in the comprehensive plan, future land use designations, a concurrent change to a zoning designation, or changes to the development regulations (e.g. zoning, environmental, and other construction codes).
This process is referred to as “docketing” and provides the opportunity to get involved in the long-term planning of the city of Edgewood. Proposals are due by December 31 of each year. “Preliminary docket” proposals are reviewed by staff and the Planning Commission at a public hearing. The City Council reviews the recommendation of the Planning Commission and will make a decision on which items to move onto the “final docket”.
Placement on the “final docket” does not guarantee that the proposal will be approved. It only means that there will be further detailed analysis by City staff and the Planning Commission. The final recommendation of the Planning Commission will be considered by City Council. Only proposals placed on the “final docket” for additional analysis may be considered for adoption.
The purpose of the public hearing is to consider the 2023 Preliminary Docket applications, received on or prior to December 31, 2022. The proposal that will be considered at the public hearing is:
- Greenbelt Apartments (File No. 22-008CODE): 9917 24th Street East, Tax Parcel No. 0420091014, located immediately east of Northwood Elementary School. This is a proposal to change the future land use designation of the property from Public to Town Center with a concurrent rezone from Public (P) to Town Center (TC). Applicant: Dhaliwal TC Landing LLC

This is an Open Record public hearing. All members of the public are welcome to provide testimony either virtually at the public hearing or in writing. Written comments, which will be provided to the Planning Commission, will be accepted by email to comdev@cityofedgewood.org until 4:30 PM on Monday, June 12, 2023.
