Boards and Commissions are groups of informed citizens who advise the council on important topics. Their decisions are passed on to the council as recommendations.
The Mayor and the City Council will then review your information, and invite you to participate in a casual "interview" during an Edgewood City Council Meeting (watch an in person interview at the 1:30 mark HERE) where they can learn more about you, and why you're interested in volunteering. Interviews can be done in person, or via Zoom with or without your camera on (however you're more comfortable).
Members of the Economic Development Board serve as volunteers in an advisory capacity
to the City Council. They are responsible for studying the economic development needs of the citizens, business owners, and developers, and making recommendations to the Council concerning those needs.
The Parks Board is an advisory board to the City Council responsible for studying the parks and recreation needs of the citizens, and making recommendations to the Council concerning those needs.
