2. Edgewood Police Department will be hosting a Jr. Police Academy from August 25th to August 28th, 6:00pm to 8:00pm, right here at City Hall. The Academy is for youth 10–15 years old. Parents are welcome to stay, but not required. We will cover forensics, calling 911, social media safety, police patrol procedures, tour of the precinct, and have visits from our SWAT Team, Search and Rescue, and Marine Services Unit. As a bonus, we will spend one evening visiting East Pierce Fire Department Station 118.

   Our goal is to give the youth of our community a better understanding of what police officers do on a daily basis, expose them to the many facets of our department, and teach them skills that could serve them well into the future. We look forward to seeing you there!
