National Night Out

Check back the summer of 2020 to join over 38 million people from approximately 17,000 communities National Night Outacross the U.S. turning on their outside lights and spending the evening outdoors enjoying block parties, cookouts, flashlight walks, and visits from local police and fire departments.

National Night Out is designed to:

  • Generate participation in anti-crime programs such as Neighborhood Crime Watch
  • Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness
  • Send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and will not tolerate illegal activity
  • Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships

If you're interested in celebrating National Night Out in your neighborhood, be sure to register your event with the Edgewood Police Department, that way we can arrange for an officer to stop by and visit you at your event on August 6th.
